Quite possibly my favorite poet.
Bukowski’s voice is what I imagine a drunk ghost would sound like. The man was brilliant and horrible and I say both of those things with admiration.

murder, incest, robbery, fire, flood…
no, it’s the continuing series of small tragedies
that send a man to the
madhouse…
not the death of his love
but a shoelace that snaps…
